Over the years our community has come together to provide the needs deemed necessary utilizing our local resources:

Arena, Ball Park, Curling & Bowling Alley and the latest project that we are very proud of “A Community Believing in Senior Living” Initiative which converted the closed hospital to a Level I Seniors Care

Community Need: Community Centre Initiative

We are now are facing a new challenge that is causing us to reach out further for assistance.

üNeed to provide facilities and/or replace and/or upgrade aging facilities.

üNeed to eliminate deficiencies that currently exist in our community infrastructure.

üNeed to plan for, now, the future for both a growing and aging population.

Rationale For Initiative is to Provide a Facility to:

Support a wide range of recreational opportunities for all ages;

Expand programs currently offered and open to all residents

within Paradise Hill, the surrounding communities and

municipalities but not adequate facilities; gymnastics,

dance, music, drama, 4-H, training courses, etc.

Allow diverse cultural, educational and recreational events on a

larger scale, available on a year round.

Enable a common meeting ground for all ages of children and adults.

and seniors sharing the same facility;

Enable interaction and resource sharing between young and

seniors;

Allow seniors to access the library or attend community/school

functions;

Benefit the aging population/senior citizens, the community,

and the school population, now and in the future.

Project Objective

To construct a multi-use facility joined onto the current Paradise Hill School utilizing their grounds.

This project will include:

üGymnasium/Community Hall

üCommercial Kitchen/Home Economics Room

üPreschool/Pre-Kindergarten Room

üMusic Room

üJoint-use Community/School Library

üConference Rooms/Seniors Rooms

üStorage

Developments and Local Efforts to Date:

üTrigger- school terminating the community and area music program as no more space to provide within the school. Students were being tutored in halls, storage space was incorporated into entrances. Gymnastics and other programs cancelled for conflicting events due to lack of facilities. Seniors Centre needing renovations.

üLocal Fundraising Efforts To Date - generated approximately $600,000 towards the project by: Special Annual Events, Community Cow-Calf /Yearling & Grain Project, Crop Project/Hay Project/Pasture Land, Local Donations, etc.

üResearch/Development - Committee members have visited other Saskatchewan communities to gather ideas and advice with the design and planning. Strategic meetings with educational representatives, local municipalities, provincial and federal government representatives.

The initial estimate of the cost of construction is $2,989,068
